Anne is an experienced piano teacher and chamber music coach. She was appointed Head of Keyboard at Oakham School in 2006 and has spent her time there educating many of the music scholars throughout their school lives and beyond. Prior to her role at Oakham School, she held positions at Uppingham School, Alleyns School and Christ Church Cathedral School in the UK, and was an Associate Piano Teacher at Indiana University, USA. Alongside this, Anne runs a small private teaching practice at home in Leicestershire where she has a diverse range of pupils, currently from age 6 to well past retirement age!
Having studied at Wells Cathedral School and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Hilary Coates, she was lucky enough to spend a number of years working under the guidance of Menahem Pressler (pianist in the Beaux Arts Trio) where she developed her love and knowledge of chamber music and solo piano. Her music degree at Christ Church, Oxford, where she studied harmony and counterpoint with Stephen Darlington, has meant she has one of the most all-round approaches to teaching.
